Wine Blogging Wednesday Returns January 18, 2012

It doesn’t seem possible that it has been nearly 7 years since I started participating in Wine Blogging Wednesday our virtual wine tasting event which has been infrequent for the past 18 months or so. And that’s a shame since the wine blogging community seems a bit more fragmented than back in 2005 when I [...]

A gift for the best of 2011

It is the time of year for giving gifts. If you think of Christmas gifts, you might imagine a box, lovingly wrapped in paper, with a bow on the top. You might, if you are like me, imagine a well crafted (but last minute) email with a voucher attached, but gifts come in many forms. [...]

Announcing WBW 71: Rhones Not From The Rhône

The theme for WBW 71 is, "Rhones Not From The Rhône." Pick any wine made from a variety best known in The Rhône but not made in that famous French region. It doesn't matter if the wine is white, pink or red; still, sparkling or fortified. Whatever you choose just needs to be made from primarily a Rhone grape and come from a region not in France.

This blog, in large part thanks to its longevity but also some very active and loyal followers, regularly appears on lists of “top wine [...]
